Homicide Investigation
North Las Vegas, Nevada – One person is dead following a shooting that happened yesterday afternoon in North Las Vegas.
On Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at about 2:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to a business parking lot near Centennial Parkway and Goldfield Street in reference to a shooting. Arriving officers located a 16-year-old male subject down in the parking lot suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to UMC Trauma in critical condition where medical staff worked diligently to save his life. However, he later succumbed to his injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect allegedly walked up to the victim and shot him multiple times. The suspect fled before officers arrived on scene. Investigators do not believe this was a random act of violence and are still looking into the relationship between the victim and suspect. Detectives are not prepared to release a suspect description at this time.
The Coroner's Office will release the identity, and cause and manner of death, after proper notification to next of kin.
