AT CLEARWATER PAPER COMPANY

North Las Vegas, Nevada – The City of North Las Vegas Fire Department responded to the 3981 Donna Street, at approximately 5:45 p.m., on May 12, 2018. We received water flow signals from the fire protection system. The first firefighter personnel arrived at 5:50 p.m., at which time they were able to confirm smoke coming from the side of the structure. Once firefighters gained entry to the building they found the fire contained to one of the machines within the building.  The building was immediately evacuated of all occupants, and one adult male was treated and released on scene. There were no other injuries to report.

North Las Vegas and Clark County Fire Departments were able to knock the fire down within 30 minutes of arrival. There were approximately 12 units on scene and 30 personnel that worked together to help put the fire out and evacuate the building. There were no injuries reported to any of those fire personnel. Cost estimates on damage and cause are undetermined at this time and fire remains under investigation.
