NORTH LAS VEGAS FIRE DEPARTMENT SET TO HOST CLARK COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT STUDENTS AND JAG NEVADA PROGRAM
North Las Vegas, Nevada – The North Las Vegas Fire Department will be hosting Clark County School District Students in the Jobs for Nevada Graduates (JAG) program. The day will be full of education and hands-on demonstrations for firefighting, vehicle extrication, emergency medical services (EMS), and fire prevention among the eight circuit rotation. The demonstrations will be hosted at fire station 52, located at 4110 Losee Road, on Monday, May 14, 2018. Media is invited to attend the demonstrations from 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. The mission of (JAG) is to graduate every student entrusted in their care from high school and set them on a path to higher education, a career or both. The Graduation rate of (JAG) participants was 88% in 2017 as compared to 71% for all other students.
During this event the students will also have an opportunity to speak to College of Southern Nevada Representatives and find out about other educational and career opportunities. The North Las Vegas Fire Department is honored to partner with (JAG), host such an event, and share why we are so passionate about our career choice. We hope to spark interest in some of the 100 students who are set to attend. Each attending student is selected based on their interest in the Fire/EMS career and all of the job opportunities associated with Public Safety.
