Arrest in Homicide Investigation
North Las Vegas, Nevada – One man is dead and one woman is arrested following a stabbing last night in North Las Vegas.
On Friday, May 4, 2018, just after 11:00 pm, officers were dispatched to the 3400 block of East Cheyenne Avenue regarding a stabbing. Arriving officers located a 25-year-old man suffering from an apparent stab wound. Medical personnel arrived and transported the man to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The preliminary investigation indicates the victim and 19-year-old Dymund Ellis were roommates. A verbal argument between the two roommates erupted just before Ellis stabbed the victim. Ellis was subsequently booked at the Las Vegas City Detention Center for the charge of murder with a deadly weapon. See the attached booking photo.
The Coroner's Office will release the identity, and cause and manner of death, pending notification of next of kin.
