Join us Thursday, March 22, in Council Chambers of North Las Vegas City Hall for a cross-cultural celebration!
In 2016, a group that included doctors, athletes, dancers and an archaeologist from Yucatán, Mexico, came to North Las Vegas to speak about Maya culture and experience our North Las Vegas culture.
This year, a group from North Las Vegas and Southern Nevada will travel to Yucatán on a similar exchange program to learn about the culture, history, arts and cuisine of that region.
We'll show highlights from the North Las Vegas trip and outline what to expect from the upcoming Yucatán trip next week during the City Hall presentation.
I'm proud to be working with my friend Alberto Bache of Sinergia Con Sentido on these wonderful cross-cultural partnerships.
Our vision to create a more dynamic downtown North Las Vegas is coming to life!
Most recently, Ross Dress for Less opened at the renovated Fiesta Plaza on Lake Mead Boulevard. A new, expanded La Bonita grocery store will be opening soon!
We've also got in the works new charter schools, new medical offices, a movie theater, a new library branch, community space, a new park and educational campus, new housing opportunities -- there are just too many projects to list. This is the most exciting time in the history of our downtown!
The China Lights Lantern Festival at Craig Ranch Regional Park was a huge success! The event attracted almost 75,000 people, including many first-time visitors to Craig Ranch Park.
We are thrilled that North Las Vegas was selected to host such an exciting event. Planning is already underway for next year!
