Arrest in Homicide Investigation
North Las Vegas, Nevada – One man is dead and one is arrested following a shooting this weekend in North Las Vegas.
On Friday, November 3, 2017, just before 11:30 pm, officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of Reseda Circle regarding a shooting. Arriving officers located a 24 year-old Hispanic male suffering from a gunshot wound to the stomach. Medical personnel arrived and transported the Hispanic male to the hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The preliminary investigation indicates the deceased man had been with 25-year-old Mauricio Miranda, just before the shooting. Initially the shooting was reported as accidental but detectives determined the shooting was a homicide. Miranda was subsequently booked at the Las Vegas City Detention Center for the charge of murder with a deadly weapon. See attached booking photo.
The Coroner's Office will release the identity, and cause and manner of death, pending notification of next of kin.
