Homicide Investigation
North Las Vegas, NV - One man is dead following an afternoon shooting yesterday in North Las Vegas.
On Friday, October 27, 2017, at about 12:40 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Hassell Avenue regarding a shooting. Arriving officers located a 31-year-old man unresponsive just outside the residence. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced him deceased on scene.
The preliminary investigation indicates there was a verbal argument between the 31-year-old man and a 26-year-old female just outside the residence. During a physical altercation between the two, the female shot the male in self-defense. The investigation showed there was a domestic relationship between the male and female.
The Coroner's Office will release the identity, and cause and manner of death, pending notification of next of kin.
