Great discussions with Mayor Bolaños of Costa Rica

It was an honor to meet Mayor Patricia Bolaños Murillo of Alcaldesa, Costa Rica, and Arcadio Bolaños representing the Costa Rica Consulate.  We discussed international tourism, the similarities among our cities and infrastructure improvements needed in the providence of Puntarenas.

I’m happy to report that we will be forming an ongoing relationship with Alcaldesa, which I believe will be a great benefit to both our communities.

Safety Officers Recognition Awards Ceremony

The annual Safety Officers Recognition (SOAR) Awards Ceremony was held last month at Las Vegas City Hall.  I am proud to say that North Las Vegas Police Officer Shane Allen and North Las Vegas Fire Department Captain Dean Campbell, Engineer Ryan Aughenbaugh, Paramedic/Firefighter Michael Zimmermann and Firefighter Joseph Meyer were recognized for their tremendous community service accomplishments.

Officer Allen has spent countless hours volunteering his time working with young people in our community and currently leads our future generation of officers in the Police Department's Explorer Program.

Our Fire Department unit was recognized for their fast-thinking actions while responding to an emergency situation.

Congratulations to Officer Allen, the fire unit and all of the award recipients. Your work in this community does not go unnoticed!
