Council members support peace and unity
Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown and I attended a vigil for peace and unity Aug.
20 with the First African Methodist Episcopal (FAME) church in collaboration
with the Anti-Defamation League and the Jewish community. Faith leaders, community partners and local
representatives shared their thoughts and encouragement to stand together in
peace and love
I was honored to join the Cesar
Chavez Day Las Vegas Committee to award four promising local students college
scholarships for use at any Southern Nevada Institution. Each of these young men and women have demonstrated
perseverance and shown a passion for using education as a tool to empower the
Latino Community.
Congratulations to Linda
Loya, Luis Vasquez, Jose Martinez and Johanna Melgar Guzman. Keep up the great
work!
