The City of North Las
Vegas in partnership with the Clark County School District held the North Las
Vegas Junior Leadership Program with five North Las Vegas high schools.
This year, I was fortunate to work with sophomores and juniors in the
JAG program at Canyon Springs High School. Throughout the year, students
participated in leadership sessions with local industry professionals covering topics such as higher education, employment
resources, business, volunteerism and community service.
To wrap up the program, Police Chief Alex Perez and Acting Fire Chief
Travis Anderson delivered inspiring messages to the program graduates about what it
takes to serve a community. Congrats, graduates! I know you will do well
in all of your future endeavors!
Community Safety Fair
The North Las Vegas Police Department and I hosted a Community Safety Fair on June 17 at the Pearson Community Center. We had several resource vendors available, and members of our police force provided educational discussions for residents. I would like to thank Police Chief Alex Perez and his staff for their efforts to protect and serve our community.
Dignity Health's first neighborhood hospital in Southern Nevada is now open in North Las Vegas. Some of the sharpest specialists and most caring doctors and nurses work here!
Visit the Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican North Las Vegas Campus at 1550 W. Craig Road. The facility is open 24 hours daily.
My prayers are with the
congregation of Zion United Methodist Church. The church’s sanctuary was destroyed
by a fire on June 6. Members of the congregation, other church organizations
and local residents came together to help clean up the debris.
Please keep Zion
United in your prayers as the congregation rebuilds the nearly 40-year-old sanctuary.
The Amp at Craig Ranch Regional Park hosts some of the best entertainers in town!
Thank you to Connie Breeze and Zenja Dunn from Old School 105.7 FM radio for allowing me to help get the crowd excited for the full lineup of exciting entertainers at the Teddy Riley and Friends concert.
Local Eagle Scout Joshua Rhodes worked with North Las Vegas staff and the Nevada Chapter of the Old
Spanish Trail Association to have a trail marker placed at Kiel Ranch Historic
Park.

Craig Ranch Regional Park
also received some colorful trail markers, thanks to Eagle Scout Caleb Popp and
a team of family and friends. We are thrilled to have wonderful
volunteers in the community helping to improve the trail paths for our active
residents.
