Fatal Crash Investigation
North Las Vegas, Nevada – North Las Vegas police officers conducted a fatal crash investigation involving a police car late last night in Las Vegas.
On Saturday, April 8, 2017, at about 8:50 p.m., officers responded near the intersection of Boulder Highway and Nellis Boulevard regarding a crash involving a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department (LVMPD) police vehicle and an adult female pedestrian. Medical personnel arrived on scene and transported the pedestrian to Sunrise Hospital where she died.
The preliminary investigation indicates the LVMPD marked patrol unit was traveling eastbound on Boulder Highway when a woman was struck while attempting to cross the street from the north to the south side of the road outside of a marked crosswalk. Both officers in the patrol vehicle were not injured.
The Coroner's Office will identify the decedent, and cause and manner of death, following notification of next of kin.
