A heartwarming holiday story: More than 100 families to receive Thanksgiving baskets filled with turkeys and food
WHAT: North Las Vegas Councilwoman Pamela Goynes-Brown, in partnership with Rosie’s Wish CDC Foundation and the Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers Association, will present more than 100 families with Thanksgiving baskets filled with turkeys, trimmings and desserts to enjoy this holiday season.
WHEN: 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15
WHERE: Rosie’s Wish, 570 W. Cheyenne Ave., Suite 20, North Las Vegas
WHO: This annual Thanksgiving food drive supports more than 100 local families in need. The Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers Association is sponsoring the event with generous food contributions. Rosie’s Wish, a North Las Vegas nonprofit organization that supports low-income children and teens diagnosed with Type II diabetes, is hosting the event. Councilwoman Goynes-Brown spearheaded a food drive among City of North Las Vegas employees to gather items to fill the baskets.
MORE: The event will include a welcome message and short program as well as the turkey and basket distribution. Councilwoman Goynes-Brown, Rosie’s Wish Chairman Lorenzo Reed and others will be available for interviews. Spanish language interviews also will be available.
