TOMORROW: City of North Las Vegas to make historic announcement about "Ban the Box"

WHAT: The City of North Las Vegas will make an announcement regarding the “Ban the Box” movement, which aims to remove from employment applications questions about a person’s conviction history and to delay background inquiries until later in the hiring process.

WHEN: 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14 during the Hope for Prisoners graduation ceremony. Please arrive early to set up as the graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 3 p.m. The City’s announcement will be made approximately 3:15 p.m.

WHERE: Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, 400 S. Martin Luther King Blvd., Las Vegas

MORE: North Las Vegas representatives will be available for interviews after the ceremony.
