National Night Out 2016

North Las Vegas, Nevada – On August 2, 2016, at the North Las Vegas Police Department is hosting its 21th Annual National Night Out. This is a night for citizens to stand together and promote awareness, safety and neighborhood unity. It will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hartke Park, 1900 E. Tonopah Avenue, North Las Vegas.

National Night Out (NNO) is a collaborative effort sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and this year marks the 33nd Annual National Night Out. NNO is designed to:

-heighten crime prevention awareness,

-generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs,

-strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and

-send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

This year's event will have free food, games, entertainment and most of all, fun for all ages. There will also be information displays and booths designed to empower citizens to fight against crime by providing them with informational resources on crime prevention and safety.

National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement in our fight for a safer nation. It aims to strengthen neighborhood spirit and to send a message to criminals, letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

The celebration has become a longstanding tradition for the North Las Vegas Police Department and the community.
