GROOVES, BREWS & 'QUE
North Las Vegas, Nevada – The City of North Las Vegas is pleased to present Grooves, Brews and ‘Que, the second concert of the 2016 Tastes, Tunes & ‘Toons Series. Featuring numerous blues, R&B, jazz and soul performances highlighted by a fireworks show, the event will take place from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, July 16.
The music will flow from an outdoor stage set up on the steps of North Las Vegas City Hall, 2250 Las Vegas Blvd. North, North Las Vegas.
The entertainment will kick off with a performance by local group Space Nation featuring the jazz/soul stylings of Nick Derry. Then legendary blues guitarist Billy Ray Charles will take the stage at 7 p.m. with his Boys in the Parking Lot Band for a new take on blues and soul classics.
Native Chicagoan MS Marilyn B will perform with her four-piece band at 8 p.m., bringing Windy City blues to the Groovesstage, and at 9 p.m., 30-year veteran performer John Earl and the Boogieman Band will take the stage. The founding house band at the world-renowned Sand Dollar Blues Lounge in Las Vegas, John Earl and the Boogieman Band blend musical styles that draw from the influences of Jimmy Reed, Little Richard, Albert King, Ray Charles and other greats.
A fireworks show will kick off at 10 p.m., followed by a performance by Ronnie Rose Rockin’ Blues and Soul. The recipient of the Excellence in Entertainment “Entertainer of the Year” Award, Ronnie Rose has performed with nationally touring acts such as Earth, Wind and Fire, Chuck Berry, and Kool and the Gang.
The community is invited to come early and enjoy this night of electrifying performances. Blankets and low-back chairs are welcome. Barbecue dishes, beer and other beverages will be available for purchase.
The event is a partnership between the City of North Las Vegas, Amerigroup, North Vista Hospital and Republic Services.
