City Hall/Las Vegas Civic Center Employee Parking Update
Please Take The Employee Parking Survey!
City staff may immediately begin parking city-owned vehicles on the top floor of the 500 S. Main St. Parking Garage. If the top floor is full, then move down one floor.
With leasing of the Las Vegas Civic Center property finishing up, there may be a future opportunity for some city employee parking in the 500 S. Main St. Parking Garage. While most city employees would continue to use the City Parkway Garage (west of the railroad tracks), there may be a limited number of spaces in the 500 S. Main St. garage made available in 2027. More information is needed from city employees.
Please take the three-question employee parking survey by clicking the blue button below. Your answers will help to determine how the city moves forward with employee parking in the 500 S. Main St. garage.

What's Right With You? The Science of Character Strengths
What if personal and professional growth started not with fixing our weaknesses, but with recognizing what we already do well?
We often spend considerable time identifying areas for improvement. While recognizing opportunities for growth is important, positive psychology offers another
|
perspective: What happens when we intentionally build upon our strengths?
Positive psychology is the scientific study of what helps people thrive. One important area is character strengths — the positive qualities that influence how we think, feel and behave. Researchers have identified 24 character strengths, including creativity, curiosity, perseverance, kindness, fairness, gratitude and leadership. Although everyone possesses these strengths to varying degrees, certain qualities come more naturally to us. These are known as our signature strengths. Recognizing and intentionally using our strengths can support greater engagement, well-being and meaning in both our personal and professional lives. However, even our greatest strengths can become challenges when overused. Perseverance can turn into difficulty letting go, kindness can lead to overcommitting, and leadership can become controlling. The key is understanding when and how to use our strengths effectively.
Discover Your Strengths
Organizational Development and Training (ODT) is offering a two-hour introductory "Maximizing Strengths Master Class" Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 1 to 3 p.m., in City Hall Training Room 3, providing a preview of the full four-session "Maximizing Strengths Master Class" launching in 2027. Participants will explore the science of character strengths, begin identifying their signature strengths, and discover how a strengths-based approach can enhance personal growth, workplace relationships and professional effectiveness. As we approach a new year, perhaps the most valuable question isn't "What do I need to fix?" but rather, "What strengths do I already have, and how can I use them more intentionally?"
With your supervisor's approval, enroll in Oracle on the employee portal. Click “LV Employee Self Service,” then click “Training Home.” Select “Class” and put “Intro to” in search box. Click “Go.” Click icon below “Enroll.” Click the “Continue” button and follow remaining prompts.
