Free Noontime Veterans Appreciation Concert Downtown Nov. 12
Food Truck Thursday And Farmers Market At Same Location 11 A.M.-2 P.M.
The city of Las Vegas is hosting a free Veterans Appreciation Concert downtown Thursday, Nov. 12, at Las Vegas Civic Center outdoor plaza, 525 S. Main St. Enjoy a special midday celebration honoring our veterans with live music while you have lunch, explore resources for veterans and their families and peruse the farmers market.
The Swing It! Girls, a vintage-inspired vocal trio, will bring swing, jazz, and early pop favorites to life with three-part harmonies, playful choreography and retro style starting at noon. The event also will feature a special live trumpet performance of Taps by T.A.P.P.S., a group of professional trumpeters dedicated to providing quality Taps performances at military funerals at no cost to military families.
Come hungry and purchase lunch from a featured veteran-owned food truck, then relax at a table or bring a blanket for a picnic in the plaza. Food trucks will be available starting at 11 a.m. Local nonprofits, community organizations and veteran-serving partners also will be on hand to share resources and connect veterans and families with available services. Convenient parking is available across the street at the 500 S. Main St. parking garage. Free two-hour parking validations will be available for parking in that garage while supplies last at the city tent on the plaza.
Food trucks expected include:
The event is free and open to the public. Join your neighbors for an afternoon of music, food, community and a meaningful celebration of those who have served our country. Food trucks are subject to change without notice.
