The United States Conference of Mayors’ DollarWise Economic Mobility Grant application period is now open. Six grants of $10,000 each will be awarded to cities or their designated nonprofits for innovative efforts to advance economic mobility.
While we welcome proposals across the economic-mobility spectrum, this year we are especially interested in programs that:
- Support returning citizens
- Expand childcare access
- Remove specific barriers to mobility (e.g., driver’s-license reinstatement, record expungement, transportation costs)
- Promote small business development
The DollarWise Innovation Grant aims to spotlight and replicate creative approaches that strengthen economic mobility. Funds may also be used to support evaluation of innovative approaches.
This initiative is made possible through the generous support of the Bank of America Charitable Foundation, DollarWise’s founding sponsor.
We anticipate that the application process should only take 30 minutes to complete. We encourage answers to be informative but concise. Winners will be announced at the U.S. Conference of Mayors Winter meeting, January 28-30, 2026, in Washington DC.
The application deadline is Friday, November 20, 2026, at 5 PM ET.
