Las Vegas City Council To Recognize
Veteran’s Work In The Community

Employee Of The Month Also To Be Honored

The Las Vegas City Council will recognize a United States Navy veteran for his work in the community at the Oct. 21, 2026, City Council meeting that will begin following the 8:30 a.m. Redevelopment Agency meeting in Council Chambers on the second floor of Las Vegas City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.

Ward 4 Councilwoman Francis Allen-Palenske will recognize a local veteran who continues to advocate for veterans and has led many charitable projects in Las Vegas, including delivering food to families in need, connecting residents to utility grants and more. The honoree was chosen following a community-wide veterans recognition initiative that invited residents to submit stories highlighting local veterans' lasting impact and legacy of service. The selected veteran will be revealed during the ceremonial.

In addition, the City Council also will recognize the October 2026 Employee of the Month.

The council meeting will be broadcast live on city of Las Vegas TV, and on the city of Las Vegas TV YouTube channel.

Those wishing to comment on items on the council agenda are invited to do so by attending the meeting in person and participating in the public comment periods. Meeting agendas may be viewed at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/meetings.
