City Of Las Vegas Reminds Residents To Plan And Stand Ready For National Preparedness Month

Make A Plan, Build A Kit And Be Ready

The city of Las Vegas is reminding residents to make emergency plans and stand ready in September for National Preparedness Month.

Preparedness can be key to surviving major incidents. The month of September serves as a nationwide reminder to review emergency plans, re-stock emergency kits and make sure everyone in the family knows what to do in all kinds of disaster situations.

The city wants residents to know the risks, build a kit, know the resources and prepare together.

The city of Las Vegas offers Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training, which teaches residents basic emergency response skills so they can better protect themselves, their families and their communities following a disaster. Learn more about CERT and volunteer opportunities at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/cert.
