City Of Las Vegas To Host Community Business Meeting To Share Progress On Collective Approach To Address Homelessness
Mayor Shelley Berkley To Speak At Event
Media is invited to cover a meeting hosted by the city of Las Vegas to share progress on helping the unhoused to get off the streets, Thursday, Aug. 20, from 1 to 3 p.m., in the second-floor Public Meeting Room of Las Vegas Civic Center, 525 S. Main St.
City staff will share information regarding a collective approach to addressing the opportunities and challenges that shape the experience of businesses, employees, residents and visitors to Las Vegas. Information will be shared regarding the city’s new MORE (Multi-Agency Outreach Resource Engagement) Team and detail the work over the last several months that has resulted in more than 70 unhoused individuals being connected to services and getting off the streets. Mayor Berkley also is scheduled to speak at the event.
The event will include resources and information to help the business community. This is the first in a series of collaborative discussions that will bring together business leaders, city departments, public safety professionals, service providers and community partners.
