Food Truck Thursday July 23
Try something new for lunch Thursday, July 23, from food trucks parked on Goodman Way between City Hall and the Las Vegas Civic Center. Food trucks will sell refreshments there between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

DMV Kiosk Available At Municipal Court
A Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) kiosk is available to use in the Municipal Court lobby, just inside the front entrance on the first floor, next to the customer service area. The kiosk offers four services:
- Vehicle Registration Renewal
- Duplicate Registrations
- Driver's History Printout
- Insurance Suspension Reinstatement
The driver's history printout is needed by the court to determine if speeding tickets can be reduced to non-demerit point violations. Those with a good driver's history are eligible. Learn more here, including what you need to bring to have success.
World Market Center Summer Market Sunday-Thursday
Expect Heavy Traffic Downtown July 25-31
During market hours, anticipate heavy vehicle traffic northbound on Grand Central Parkway between Charleston Boulevard and Symphony Park Avenue, as well as moderate-to-heavy vehicle traffic eastbound on Bonneville Avenue from Martin L. King Jr. Boulevard to Grand Central Parkway during the morning hours 7-10 a.m. Evenings 5-7 p.m., expect heavy congestion on westbound Bonneville, southbound Martin L. King Jr. Boulevard and westbound Symphony Park Avenue.
Market Hours July 26-July 30, 2026
Market opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. Sunday-Wednesday, July 26-29. The market opens at 9 a.m. Thursday, but closes at 4 p.m. July 30.
Move-out will continue 4-10 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, July 31. Access to World Market Center Drive from Grand Central Parkway re-opens Friday morning.
Say Goodbye?
Economic & Urban Development (EUD) Administrative Secretary Maria Vigil will retire July 29 after 22+ years of service. Come by the City Hall sixth-floor EUD large conference room Wednesday, July 29, after 11 a.m. to say goodbye. Katie Pyne is the new secretary in EUD.
Contracts Specialist Steve Kessler retired July 2 after nearly 20 years of service with Finance in Purchasing and Contracts. Anyone wishing to say goodbye can send messages to tkemble@lasvegasnevada.gov and they will be delivered to him. Thank you, Steve, for your dedication to the city!
Parents Can Register For Safekey
Before- And After-School Programs
Online Enrollment For Elementary School-Age Children Open Now
The city of Las Vegas online-only registration for its Safekey before- and after-school enrichment program for youth in grades kindergarten through fifth grade is open now. Registration will open at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 28, for eight program sites* that may be free for participants, pending receiving grant funding. Registration and payments can be completed online at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Safekey. Cash, check and money order payments can be made at the city of Las Vegas Customer Care Center, located at 500 S. Electric Vehicle Charging Station Changes Coming In August!
The city of Las Vegas will be upgrading the electric vehicle (EV) chargers in the Promenade Parking Garage, located at 355 Promenade Place, Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 5-6. On these dates, the EV parking stalls will not be available for use. Beginning Friday, Aug. 7, drivers of electric vehicles may begin to park in these stalls.
The policies concerning the use of EV charging stations have been revised. These changes are being made to increase the availability of charging stations and to support the EV charging infrastructure.
EV charging stalls will no longer be provided free of charge in the Promenade Place Parking Garage. Additionally, all vehicles must be removed from an EV parking stall once the vehicle has become fully charged. A 30-minute grace period for moving the vehicle, after the vehicle has reached maximum charge status, will be provided.
The new, upgraded EV chargers will have the capability of allowing the user to access many charging functions via an app. As an example, users will be able to monitor the charging status of their vehicle, provide the user with an alert when the vehicle is fully charged, will alert the user of any charging issues during the charging process and will monitor and track energy use.
Information on the downloading and use of the charging app is available through the iPhone and Android app stores, or visit charge.swtchenergy.com to charge app-free.
EV charging fee schedule:
$1.25 per hour – Initial charging session
$6 per hour – Overstay past the grace period
At this time, charging will remain free for vehicles parked in an EV charging parking stall located in the 350 City Parkway Garage, and there will continue to be no time limit on the length of stay, until the charging equipment is upgraded at this location.

Sound Bath: Relax, Recharge and Reset
Life moves fast, and finding time to truly relax isn't always easy. A sound bath offers an opportunity to slow down, quiet the mind and give your nervous system a chance to reset.
During a sound bath, participants simply lie or sit comfortably while listening to the soothing sounds and vibrations of instruments such as crystal singing bowls, chimes and gongs.

Unlike meditation, there's nothing you need to do. Simply relax and allow yourself to be present.
Research suggests that listening to calming, repetitive sounds can help quiet mental activity, reduce perceived stress and activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the part of the nervous system responsible for rest, recovery and healing. One study published in the Journal of Evidence-Based Integrative Medicine examined the effects of a one-hour singing bowl session on participants. Researchers found significant reductions in tension, anxiety, anger, fatigue and depressed mood following the session, with the greatest improvements seen in participants who were new to sound meditation. These findings suggest that sound-based relaxation practices may be an effective way to reduce stress and promote a greater sense of calm and well-being.
Many people leave a sound bath feeling calmer, refreshed and better equipped to handle the demands of daily life.
Join Us! Did you know the city of Las Vegas offers monthly sound baths? Sessions are typically held on the third Wednesday of each month at City Hall, and alternate Tuesdays at both the East and West Service Yards.
