Share Your “Call Me” Story At StorySLAM Performance Aug. 22

Step into an evening of unforgettable true tales Saturday, Aug. 22, at the Charleston Heights Arts Center as local storytellers take the stage for StorySLAM: Call Me, a live storytelling event where every narrative is inspired by the theme “Call Me.” From hilarious misdials to life-changing phone calls, expect a night of authenticity, vulnerability and unexpected twists.
Whether you’re a seasoned StorySLAM fan or new to the art of live storytelling, this intimate community event invites you to laugh, reflect and connect through the power of real stories told by real people. Enjoy a heartfelt, spontaneous and entertaining night where one call can change everything.
Got a story to tell? Email cgoble@lasvegasnevada.gov with a one- or two-sentence description of your story by July 22 for a chance to tell your story live on stage! Selected storytellers will have the opportunity to enhance their storytelling skills, refine their narrative and connect with fellow storytellers through three free Wednesday night workshops led by teaching artist and emcee Dayvid Figler. All levels of experience are invited to apply.
General admission tickets are available now for the single 7 p.m. StorySLAM performance Saturday, Aug. 22, at Charleston Heights Arts Center, located at 800 Brush St. Priced at pay what you wish, from $1 to $20 ($5 suggested), tickets may be purchased at the center or online here. Event day ticket sales will be available at the box office until sold out. Performance material may be unsuitable for children under 13; parental guidance is suggested.
Charleston Heights Arts Center presents a wide diversity of programs and classes, including Rainbow Company Youth Theatre performances and camps, classes for group dance, visual arts, drama and private music and voice lessons. Current center hours are 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday (unless there is an evening event); closed Sunday, Monday and holidays.
