Community Invited To Citywide Unity Prayer Event
Local Faith Leaders To Pray For The Community
The community is invited to attend the Citywide Unity Prayer Celebration Saturday, July 11, at 10 a.m. in the second-floor Council Chambers at Las Vegas City Hall, 495 S. Main St.
Local faith leaders are scheduled to attend the event that will include Shawn M. Nicholson as the keynote speaker. Nicholson is an author and workforce strategist with more than 30 years of experience in building economic mobility in underserved communities.
The Citywide Unity Prayer Celebration takes place twice a year and this event is sponsored by the city of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and faith-based organizations in the community.
The event is in partnership with the Mayor’s Faith Initiative, a working group formed in 2012 with more than 120 faith leaders representing more than 70,000 congregants from Las Vegas valley houses of worship. The group works to better the Las Vegas community through faith in action.
