A Marathon Of All The Documentaries In The City Of Las Vegas Decades Series

     “The City of Las Vegas: The 1980s” will premiere on Cable Channel 2 and on YouTube at city of Las Vegas TV Saturday, May 16, at 7 p.m. Funded by the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial, the new film is the eighth in a series of documentaries exploring the history of Las Vegas.

 

     The new documentary also will be aired on channel 2 May 17 at 3:45 p.m., May 18 at 3 p.m., May 19 at 12 p.m., May 21 at 2:30 p.m., May 22 at 9:30 a.m. and May 23 at 6 a.m.

 

     Funded by the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial, the first documentary episode, “The City of Las Vegas: The Early Years,” was released May 15, 2019, and focused on the founding and first 20 years of the community. All episodes were produced by Boyd Productions LLC and were released near May 15 each consecutive year, as that is the date of the anniversary of the founding of the city of Las Vegas, Nevada.

 

     The entire decades series will be shown as a marathon May 15 and 17 on channel 2. Each of the documentaries, as well as other historical films, may be viewed on YouTube at the viewer’s convenience. The series will air May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and May 17 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The documentaries include:

  • “The City of Las Vegas: The 1930s”
  • “The City of Las Vegas: The 1940s”
  • “The City of Las Vegas: The 1950s”
