Rising at the heart of the outdoor plaza, the new sculpture’s transparent, layered form shifts with the daylight and comes alive at night through programmed LED lighting. Meet the artist, Cliff Garten, and enjoy performances by Mundo Juillerat and Martin St. Pierre – musicians with "Mystere" by Cirque du Soleil – with speakers starting at 6 p.m. Park across the street at the 500 S. Main St. garage and pick up a free two-hour validation sticker at the event.

Helldorado Days Parade

Everyone is invited to line the parade route or sit in the grandstand to enjoy the two-hour parade in downtown Las Vegas. Parade goers should bring water, hats, chairs, umbrellas for shade and sunscreen. Expect to see 10 school marching bands, Zelzah Shriner flivver cars, hundreds of costumed dancers, plenty of equestrian groups, car clubs, motorcycle clubs, school and business floats, the city’s Big Red fire truck and so much more.
The grandstand is located at Fourth and Bridger Avenue and seats approximately 100 people. Food trucks behind the grandstand will offer refreshments for sale. Helldorado swag will be given away to parade attendees. Parking is available in several nearby locations; see the map. Event parking in City Parkway, City Hall and City Center parking garages will cost $6 for the day.

To Premiere May 16 On City Of Las Vegas TV
A Marathon Of All The Documentaries In The City Of Las Vegas Decades Series Also To Air
“The City of Las Vegas: The 1980s” will premiere on Cable Channel 2 and on YouTube at city of Las Vegas TV Saturday, May 16, at 7 p.m. Funded by the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial, the new film is the eighth in a series of documentaries exploring the history of Las Vegas.
The new documentary also will be aired on channel 2 May 17 at 3:45 p.m., May 18 at 3 p.m., May 19 at 12 p.m., May 21 at 2:30 p.m., May 22 at 9:30 a.m. and May 23 at 6 a.m.
Funded by the Commission for the Las Vegas Centennial, the first documentary episode, “The City of Las Vegas: The Early Years,” was released May 15, 2019, and focused on the founding and first 20 years of the community. All episodes were produced by Boyd Productions LLC and were released near May 15 each consecutive year, as that is the date of the anniversary of the founding of the city of Las Vegas, Nevada.
The entire decades series will be shown as a marathon May 15 and 17 on channel 2. Each of the documentaries, as well as other historical films, may be viewed on YouTube at the viewer’s convenience. The series will air May 15 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and May 17 from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The documentaries include:
