Happy Anniversary Customer Care Center Team!
March 19, 2026, the Customer Care Center celebrates six years of service to the Las Vegas community! As the city’s centralized call center hub, the team provides essential information and assistance to residents and visitors of the city of Las Vegas. They also manage payment transactions for city services, supporting customers in person and over the phone.
Over the past year, the Customer Care Center team handled more than 103,000 incoming calls, assisted 3,879 walk-in customers and processed more than $36 million in payments. Their dedication helps keep city operations running smoothly and makes a meaningful impact every day. Happy anniversary to the entire team!
Badging In To The City Parking Garages
If you are driving a city-owned vehicle, make sure you are using that vehicle’s badge, not your personal badge, to gain access to city parking facilities. Personal badges are only to be used when entering/exiting the garage in your personal vehicle. If your city vehicle does not have an automatic gate opener installed or a badge assigned to it that stays in the vehicle, please reach out to IT at cardaccess@lasvegasnevada.gov to get one.

Heat Illness Prevention Training For City Employees
As temperatures begin to rise in Southern Nevada, it’s important for employees —especially those who work outdoors or in warm environments — to be prepared for hot weather conditions. Heat-related illnesses can develop quickly and may include symptoms such as heavy sweating, dizziness, nausea, headache, muscle cramps, confusion or fainting. Recognizing these warning signs early and knowing how to respond can help prevent serious health risks.
To help employees stay safe and prepared, the Safety & Risk officer is offering heat illness prevention training that will cover how heat impacts the body, how to recognize the signs and symptoms of heat-related illness, and practical steps employees and supervisors can take to prevent heat stress while working.
Training sessions are available in the Las Vegas Civic Center first-floor Frank Sinatra Training Room at 525 S. Main St.
Wednesday, March 25,
The class is open to all city of Las Vegas employees. Employees can register in Oracle or by emailing Steve Pupp directly at spupp@lasvegasnevada.gov.

"Rhythm and Resilience: Black Vegas" explores African American life in Las Vegas from the arrival of its first Black resident through the 1980s, tracing the impacts of segregation and racial barriers while celebrating the creativity, resilience, and achievements that shaped the city’s character. Beginning with John Howell, the first African American settler, it follows the growth of a downtown Black community and its forced relocation in the early 20th century to what became the Historic Westside. Despite systemic exclusion, this neighborhood emerged as a vibrant cultural and social hub where residents built businesses, churches and civic organizations, cultivated music and nightlife that drew world-class performers, and organized for civil rights and equity. By honoring these histories, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the enduring legacy of the African American community and its lasting influence on the identity, spirit and future of Las Vegas. The exhibition is open through Aug. 20 and is curated by Carmen Beals and narrated by Claytee White.
