Owens Avenue Improvements Start Monday, Dec. 1
Lane Restrictions Will Be In Place Dec. 1 Through Friday Jan. 9
Beginning Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, through Friday, Jan. 9, 2026, crews will be repaving Owens Avenue between H Street and Interstate 15. Traffic will generally be restricted to one through lane for east- and westbound traffic on Owens Avenue.
Primary work activities of milling and repaving will take place from Monday, Dec. 1 through Friday Dec. 5, subject to weather and equipment availability. Utility adjustments and striping will be completed between Dec. 8 and Jan. 9. Normal work hours will be Monday – Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Washington Avenue is recommended as alternate routes for east- and westbound traffic.
Preliminary work was completed consisting of improvements to the sidewalk areas to meet federal Americans with Disabilities Act requirements, which included the reconstruction of concrete cross gutter, and curb and gutter. The current work consists of partial-depth pavement removal and reconstruction, installation of temporary traffic delineations, and bike lanes.
Las Vegas Paving is the contractor, and the city of Las Vegas is managing the project. The estimated cost of the work is $ 1,8 million funded by the Federal Highway Administration and the Regional Transportation Commission fuel indexing tax.
