Oakey Boulevard Improvements Start Monday, Dec. 1
Work And Lane Restrictions Will Be In Place Through Friday, Feb. 27, 2026
Starting Monday, Dec. 1, 2025, and continuing through Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, Oakey Boulevard will have lane restrictions between Las Vegas Boulevard and Silver Birch Lane for paving and utility work. Traffic will generally be restricted to one through lane for east- and westbound traffic for utility adjustments.
Road closures of approximately a quarter mile will be in place for the milling and paving portion of the project, which begins on Dec. 15 and is expected to last three weeks. Work activities will take place between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
Sahara Avenue is recommended as an alternate route for east – and westbound traffic.
Preliminary work was completed consisting of improvements to the sidewalk areas to meet federal requirements for the Americans with Disabilities Act, including the reconstruction of concrete cross gutter, curb and gutter.
Amrize, Inc. is the contractor. The city of Las Vegas is managing the project. The estimated cost of the work is $3.4 million funded Through Regional Transportation Commission fuel indexing tax.
