Construction To Begin On New Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Substation And City Park

New Substation Located In Northwest Las Vegas

A groundbreaking ceremony for the new Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department substation at 9735 Hualapai Way (near the corner of Hualapai and Grand Teton Drive) is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2025. Officials with the city of Las Vegas, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and Clark County will be at the event to celebrate the start of construction.

The $27.2 million project, which includes a new park, is expected to be completed by early 2027. The 13,300-square-foot building will give the growing Northwest part of the city, including the Providence, Skye Canyon and Sunstone developments, a nearby police substation. The architect is Simpson Coulter Design Studio, the contractor is CORE Construction and the project is being managed by the city of Las Vegas.

In addition, a two-acre park will be built adjacent to the substation and should also open in early 2027. The park will include three picnic pavilions, a skate park, walking trail and a playground. The park portion of the project is partially funded by a $1 million donation from Green Valley Grocery.
