City Council To Recognize Little League National Champions Summerlin South Ball Club

Citizens Of The Month Also To Be Recognized

 

    The Las Vegas City Council will recognize the Little League National Champion Summerlin South Ball Club at the Sept. 3, 2025, City Council meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.

 

    Mayor Shelley Berkley will recognize the team, manager T.J. Fechser and the coaches for winning the U.S. Championship with an 8-2 victory over the Little League club from Connecticut.

 

    In addition, Ward 5 Councilwoman Shondra Summers-Armstrong will recognize the team at Nevada Legal Services as the September Citizens of the Month. Among its many services, the organization assists with housing cases where tenants are facing eviction or termination of their subsidized housing. They also can help individuals and families that are applying for and are denied or terminated from government benefits, denials of unemployment benefits and sealing criminal and eviction records.

 

    Finally, Ward 6 Councilwoman Nancy Brune will recognize Yudi Pinedo and Escaramuza Charra Colibries de Nevada, a horse-riding team comprised of women who participate in cultural events across the city.

 

    The meeting will be broadcast live on city of Las Vegas TV.
