City Council To Recognize Latin Chamber Of Commerce
Citizen Of The Month Also To Be Recognized
The Las Vegas City Council will recognize the Latin Chamber of Commerce for its outstanding contributions to the area’s cultural and economic landscape at the Aug. 6, 2025, City Council meeting that will begin at 9 a.m. in Council Chambers on the second floor of City Hall, located at 495 S. Main St.
Ward 4 Councilwoman Francis Allen-Palenske will recognize the Latin Chamber of Commerce and President Peter Guzman for empowering Hispanic-owned businesses, fostering economic growth and creating opportunities for education and leadership within the community.
In addition, Councilwoman Allen-Palenske also will recognize Mary Fairhurst as the Citizen of the Month for her extraordinary dedication to public safety in Sun City Summerlin.
Fairhurst, president of the Sun City Neighborhood Preparedness Team, has gone above and beyond in her efforts to protect and support her community. She played a pivotal role in launching the Knox Box program in Sun City, a vital safety initiative that allows first responders to access homes during emergencies without forcing entry and damaging doors and windows.
The meeting will be broadcast live on city of Las Vegas TV.
