Financial Analyst I/II & Sr Financial Analyst
The city of Las Vegas invites applications for Financial Analyst I, Financial Analyst II and Sr Financial Analyst within the Finance Department.
Ideal Candidate This position is responsible for a wide range of complex financial and accounting duties, including but not limited to the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) and maintenance of the general ledger. This role may also perform monthly reconciliations, prepare and monitor budget activities, and manages a variety of financial records and accounts. Key responsibilities also include providing budgetary forecasts, generating detailed financial reports and modifications, and overseeing the City’s cash handling functions. Additionally, the position administers banking relationships and performs various technical tasks related to the assigned area
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a robust understanding of accounting principles and practices, with a particular focus on maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts. This candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all financial records and reports. In addition, the candidate will have proficiency in accounting software and systems, with experience in managing month-end and year-end closing processes. They will exhibit excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently. They will show a proactive approach to identifying and resolving discrepancies and a commitment to continuous improvement in accounting processes.
