Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Officially Accredited By The Commission On Fire Accreditation International
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Confirmed As Among The Best In The Nation
The Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) has announced that Las Vegas Fire & Rescue has received its full accreditation. CFAI is committed to assisting and improving fire and emergency service agencies around the world in achieving organizational and professional excellence through its strategic self-assessment model and accreditation process that provide continuous quality improvement and enhancement of service delivery to the community and the world at large. CFAI provides fire department training to assist departments with the tools necessary to begin and maintain the self-assessment process.
The Center for Public Safety Excellence (CPSE) Accreditation Program, administered by CFAI, allows fire and emergency service agencies to compare their performance to industry best practices in order to:
- determine community risk and safety needs and develop community-specific standards of cover,
- evaluate the performance of the department, and
- establish a method for achieving continuous organizational improvement.
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue (LVFR) members have shown exceptional dedication in a multi-year self-assessment process to gain accreditation. Earlier this year, LVFR members traveled to Orlando, Florida, to defend their submissions and present findings on Las Vegas Fire & Rescue. This achievement is a direct reflection of their unwavering commitment to excellence, transparency and continuous improvement.
CFAI accreditation is more than a title. It affirms that LVFR is utilizing best practices with a thorough methodology and genuine intentions. The assessment spans from operational services and training to strategic planning and community engagement.
“CFAI accreditation is a direct reflection of our members' unwavering commitment to excellence, transparency and continuous improvement,” said Las Vegas Fire Chief Fernando Gray. “Becoming an accredited agency is no small task — it represents years of hard work, honest self-assessment and a shared dedication to better serving our community. This designation is a well-deserved and remarkable achievement for our members, agency and the Las Vegas community.”
By receiving this accreditation, Las Vegas Fire & Rescue is confirmed among the best in the nation, providing a reassurance of the quality of their operations to city of Las Vegas residents. In addition, the department holds an ISO class 1 rating.
