Storm Drain, Sewer & Roadway Work Will Begin Feb. 24
At Charleston-Arville Intersection

Expect Delays And Lane Restrictions For 20 Months

Storm drain, sewer and roadway work will begin Monday, Feb. 24, on Charleston Boulevard at Arville Street. The new 20-month project includes reinforced concrete box storm drain installation in Charleston from 200 feet east of Essex Drive through the Lindell Road intersection. The sanitary sewer will be relocated and replaced, and new manholes, pipes, laterals to side streets, drop inlets, sidewalk, curbs, gutter, cross gutter, raised medians, pavement, pedestrian flasher, signage, landscaping and irrigation will be installed. In addition, sewer manholes and pipes rehabilitation/replacement, water line relocation, traffic signal loop and pavement replacement will take place on Charleston from Arville to Rainbow Boulevard, on Arville from Charleston to Sahara, and on Sahara from I-15 to Decatur Boulevard.

Work hours will be 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. initially; but some night work is possible during the project. Lane restrictions will be in place for the entire project. Drivers should expect lane restrictions and delays on Charleston and Arville and adjacent side streets as work progresses; alternate routes are recommended. Initially, alternate routes include Sahara and Alta for east-west travel and Valley View Boulevard and Decatur for north-south travel. See the map. Work on Sahara will begin once the lane restrictions on Charleston are removed.
