Residents Invited to Participate In Two Public Safety Citizens Academies
Registration Now Open For Free Citizens Police And Fire Academies
Residents interested in learning more about public safety in the community are invited to register for the Citizens Police and Fire Academies.
The city’s Department of Public Safety is currently accepting applications through Jan. 8. To register you can apply online or visit www.lasvegasnevada.gov/citizenspolice for more information. The Citizen’s Police Academy is a 12-week course on Wednesdays from 6 to 9 p.m., beginning on Feb. 19. The program is designed to increase knowledge about law enforcement in the community.
The Las Vegas Fire & Rescue Department is accepting applications through Jan. 31, 2025, and those interested may apply online. The Citizen’s Fire Academy is a 10-week course on Thursdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m., beginning on Feb. 20. The program provides an overview of how Las Vegas Fire & Rescue operates.
