Fatal Fire At 6336 Shawnee Ave In Las Vegas

Cause Of The Fire Is Under Investigation

 

     Friday, Dec. 6, 2024, at 10:28 p.m., Las Vegas Fire & Rescue received an emergency call for 6336 Shawnee Ave., a single-story residential structure.

 

     The first arriving units were on site within three minutes of their assignment. Crews entered and searched the residence. It was reported at the scene that one person (an approximately 70-year-old male) and two cats were in the home. One person was rescued from the house. Crews began an offensive strategy to contain and extinguish the fire. The secondary all-clear was given at 10:57 p.m.

 

    The individual endured burns on multiple areas of his body and was transported to UMC Trauma in critical condition. Unfortunately, on Dec. 9, the patient succumbed to his injuries.

 

     The American Red Cross was contacted to support four adults. The home required board-up services for one door and one garage door. The cause of the fire is undetermined and under investigation. There is an estimated $50,000 in damage to the home.
