City Of Las Vegas Neighborhood Partners Fund Program Offers Matching Grants To Neighborhood Associations
Applicants Can Attend One Of Three Grant Workshops Scheduled in February
The annual Neighborhood Partners Fund (NPF) grant application process is beginning, offering registered city of Las Vegas neighborhood associations the opportunity to apply for a maximum of $5,000 to help improve the quality of their neighborhoods. There is $80,000 available for neighborhood grants this year. The NPF, a real “do-it-yourself” program for neighborhoods, allows the city to support resident creativity, empowerment and responsibility.
Applications open Jan. 29, 2024. All applicants must submit a pre-application by the pre-application deadline of Thursday, Feb. 29, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. If the pre-application is approved, associations have until Thursday, April 25, 2024, to submit the full application.
Community gardens, senior citizen safety programs, murals, or other proposals related to community improvement are types of neighborhood improvement projects that may qualify under this grant. The program requires neighborhood associations match the city’s grant. Volunteer time is required, but cash or in-kind services and goods also may be donated to the project as part of the match. Projects are required to take place within city limits and neighborhood boundaries as well as include direct resident involvement in all phases of the projects.
Applicants are encouraged to register and attend one of three workshops scheduled to learn about the program and the automated method of applying for the grant. Applicants will use ZoomGrants to submit their applications. No paper applications will be accepted. For more information about workshops, call 702-229-3424.
The workshop will be offered in person at the following time and location and virtually through WebEx:
- Saturday, Feb. 10, 1-2 p.m. at the East Las Vegas Community Center, 250 N. Eastern Ave.
- WebEx Tuesday, Feb. 13, 10 to 11 a.m.
- WebEx Thursday, Feb. 15, 3 to 4 p.m.
All workshops will have Spanish-speaking staff to assist. Residents interested in attending the WebEx virtual meeting must email their name, the name of their neighborhood or homeowners association, and their email address to NPF@LasVegasNevada.gov. Once city residency has been verified, residents interested in the WebEx virtual workshop will receive an email invitation to the meeting. Detailed NPF grant requirements are available under “Neighborhood Partners Fund” on the city website at www.lasvegasnevada.gov/Associations.
After the submission deadline, applications will be reviewed for basic requirements and eligibility. The applications will be further evaluated by the NPF Board, whose members are appointed by the City Council. All applicants will be required to make a five-minute presentation of their projects to the NPF Board and respond to questions. Funding recommendations from the NPF Board on these projects will be presented to the City Council for final approval at the July 17, 2024, City Council meeting. Residents with questions can call 702-229-3424 or email NPF@LasVegasNevada.gov.
