City Manager Announces New Thematic Goal
In yesterday's message to all employees, City Manager Mike Janssen announced the city's new thematic goal for this year -- employee wellness. As part of our organizational health initiative, the thematic goal is a common issue for employees that’s most important in the short term. Watch for coming opportunities to be included in the Weekly Update to improve your physical, emotional and financial wellbeing.

2024 Mileage Reimbursement Form
For those who use their personal vehicles for city business, the 2024 updated mileage reimbursement form is available here and through the Finance Sharepoint site under the "City Travel" tab. The new form reflects the new rate established by the IRS. Questions? Contact Debbie Phillips at ext. 2301.

In the mood for good food? Food Truck Thursdays offers delicious options located on Clark Avenue in front of Municipal Court. Food trucks rotate every other Thursday to add variety for lunch options for sale between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. This week's Food Truck Thursday event will feature Shawn’s Puffy Tacos & Pizza Stoned food trucks. Expected food trucks are subject to change without notice.
World Market Center Winter Market Jan. 28-Feb. 1
The World Market Center Winter Market 2024 is scheduled for Jan. 28-Feb. 1, starting at 9 a.m. daily. During morning market hours, we anticipate heavy vehicle traffic northbound on Grand Central Parkway between Charleston Boulevard and Symphony Park, as well as moderate-to-heavy vehicle traffic eastbound on Bonneville from Martin L. King Jr. Boulevard (MLK) to Grand Central Parkway.
During evening market hours, heavy traffic is anticipated westbound on Bonneville from Grand Central Parkway to MLK, as well as southbound on both Grand Central Parkway and MLK from Bonneville to Charleston. Additional congestion is expected westbound on Symphony Park between Grand Central Parkway and MLK.
During these peak times, alternate routes are recommended while traveling downtown. Please plan your travel routes accordingly.
Upcoming SmartLab White Belt Training Jan. 29
SmartLab, the city’s internal continuous-improvement program, is offering a White Belt training Monday, Jan. 29, from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. Open to all staff, this training teaches the basics of lean process improvement methods to help staff streamline their work and reduce waste, with the goal of delivering more value for customers and making work easier. Nearly 300 staff have received this training, and you could be next! Email SmartLabAdmin@lasvegasnevada.gov to register.
