New Rewards Program Helps Small Businesses And Provides Savings For Consumers In City Of Las Vegas
Program Funded Through American Rescue Plan Act
The city of Las Vegas has partnered with Bludot Technologies Inc. to offer Las Vegas Open Rewards, an assistance program for small, independently owned businesses. The program allows customers who sign up to earn cashback rewards for frequenting participating businesses.
To join the free program, consumers may visit https://www.bludot.io/open-rewards-las-vegas to download the Las Vegas Open Rewards app. Businesses interested in participating in the program should visit https://www.bludot.io/las-vegas-business-signup for information on how to enroll. A list of participating businesses may be found in the app.
More than 50 small businesses have joined the program, which runs until June 30, 2024. The program is funded through $1 million in American Rescue Act Funds. To qualify, businesses must meet the following requirements:
- Formed on or before Dec. 1, 2019
- Is within the Las Vegas city limits
- Is in the food-and-beverage, hospitality or retail sectors
- If in the retail or food-and-beverage sector, the following eligibility requirements also apply:
- Is a small, independently owned business with fewer than 500 employees
- Is not part of a corporate chain
- Show that the business had decreased revenue as a result of COVID-19, or is operated by tribal governments or on tribal lands.
"Small businesses are at the core of our diverse and vibrant community,” Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman said. “Being able to promote our local businesses and incentivize both our residents and tourists to shop local is such an exciting opportunity for us."
Open Rewards is an innovative shop-local program to incentivize customers to support their community's local businesses. The Open Rewards app allows shoppers to earn and redeem rewards on every purchase at participating local businesses. To celebrate the launch of the program, the city is offering free $25 vouchers to the public to use in the Open Rewards app. Limited vouchers will be available at participating business locations. The vouchers are limited to one per person and valid until Dec. 31, 2023, or while funds last. More instructions on how to use the vouchers can be found at https://www.bludot.io/las-vegas-vouchers.
