Citizen Tip Leads To Arrest In Connection With Arson
Fire Occurred In April 2023
Las Vegas Fire & Rescue investigators and Las Vegas Metropolitan Police officers coordinated to arrest and charge a woman in connection with an April 24, 2023, fire that has been ruled an arson.
Tarica Brown, age 34, was arrested at Harry Reid International Airport Monday, July 10, as she flew into Las Vegas from Atlanta after fire investigators received a tip that she was making the trip. Brown has been charged with three felonies in connection with the fire, including first-degree arson, willful malicious/torture/maim/kill dog and residential burglary.

Monday, April 24, 2023, at 2 a.m. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded to a fire at 7526 Yonie Court. Firefighters found a two-story structure with heavy smoke and fire from the second floor and the roof. A cat was found dead in the wreckage of the 7,000-square-foot home valued at approximately $2 million.
Investigators determined that the fire was arson through scene examination and multiple interviews. A suspect developed approximately a month later but fled to Florida. Investigators received a tip that the suspect was planning on returning to Las Vegas on Monday, July 10.
Brown was arrested without incident as she exited the plane and was transported to the Clark County Detention Center.
The case has been turned over to the Office of the Clark County District Attorney for prosecution. Las Vegas Fire & Rescue would like to thank the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the Clark County District Attorney and the public for their cooperation, which led to this arrest.
