You, your immediate family members and even your pets are invited. There will be plenty of great activities, and park entry fees will be waived for us that day. Those looking for some western-themed competition should consider forming a team for the department challenge. Details are below. Be sure to RSVP! See you March 4!
COVID Cases Remain In Single Digits
For the week ending Feb. 6, 2023, we have just six new confirmed COVID-19 cases reported in the employee population. This compares to four new cases last week, as well as the week before that. This time, six departments had at least one employee test positive over the last seven days. Since the pandemic started, the total number of positive cases reported among the city workforce is now 1,692.
In keeping with the good start we’re seeing for 2023, this the least amount of positive cases we have recorded for the first week of February since tracking began!
In other COVID-related news, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is proposing changes to the vaccination strategy, recommending annual vaccinations similar to the flu shot. Aside from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) websites, information can also be found on www.covid.gov for resources/information.
With COVID not completely gone from the workplace, we want to make sure everyone knows when to get tested and what to do if you test positive. It remains vital that if you are sick or experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, you stay home and consult your health care provider. Should you test positive for the coronavirus, please notify your supervisor right away. If you have any questions, please contact Human Resources.
In addition, updated COVID-19 vaccines boosters are now available at Southern Nevada Health District clinic locations. At this time, if someone is seeking a booster dose, the individual should visit the clinic as a walk-in rather than making an appointment. The CDC still recommends wearing masks and increasing space and distance as needed.
