Fire dispatchers received several 9-1-1 calls at 9:50 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 27, that there was an odor of ammonia in the area of Charleston Boulevard, Commerce and Main Streets. The incident was three hours in length. Commerce Street was closed from California Avenue to Imperial Avenue and Colorado Avenue was closed from Main Street to the end during the incident. A few businesses were evacuated for a short time until the odor was no longer detected.
There were no injuries reported during the incident.
