City Of Las Vegas Detention Center Launches New Programming To Reduce Recidivism

A Program Was Held Oct. 22 In Honor Of Breast Cancer Awareness Month

The city of Las Vegas Detention Center has implemented new programming to reduce recidivism, break the cycle of re-offense and improve public safety. New programs focus on health and wellness, as well as social needs, to offer better continuity of care towards successful reintegration into the community.

Oct. 22, residents participated in a Breast Cancer Awareness Day program as part of health awareness initiatives. Activities included presentations from Nevada Health Centers and Tonya Flanagan, the Susan G. Komen Foundation's former interim executive director. The event also included a wellness walk within the recreation area.
