Las Vegas City Council Approves Additional Public Parking Spaces For Downtown Las Vegas

111 New Spaces Will Be Added And 213 Existing Spaces Will Continue

At today’s meeting, the Las Vegas City Council approved two new parking lots downtown that will bring an additional 111 spaces to the city’s popular urban core. In addition, the City Council approved the extension of existing agreements that contribute a total of 213 public parking spaces at various lots around downtown.

“Downtown Las Vegas is the place to be with exciting attractions, experiences, eateries, breweries, art and more,” Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman said. “There really is something for everyone and we want to make sure that access is convenient for all. In addition to the parking, everyone is welcome to use the free Downtown Loop shuttle to hit all the hot spots.”

The 111 new spaces are split between a planned 60-space lot located at 1621 S. Main St., and a planned 51-space lot located at 1311, 1315 and 1321 S. Casino Center Blvd. Both lots should be operational in January 2021 and will be managed and operated by the city of Las Vegas. The parking will cost between $2 to $3 per hour depending on location and time of day.

The City Council also extended lease agreements for lots totaling 213 spaces at the following locations:

  • 102, 118 and 128 S. Seventh St.
  • 100 N. Seventh St.
  • The southeast corner of Stewart Avenue and North Casino Center Boulevard.

These lots allow additional parking opportunities and motorists can use the “hop-on, hop-off” Downtown Loop shuttle to travel to downtown attractions for free.
