Youth Can Apply This Fall For City Of Las Vegas
Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program Grants

Applicants Encouraged To Attend Grant Workshop In September

The Youth Neighborhood Association Partnership Program (YNAPP) offers grants of up to $1,250 for youth to create and implement neighborhood-based service learning projects of their own design.

The program requires youth to match the city’s grant with cash, volunteer time or in-kind services and goods donated to the project. Projects are required to take place within city limits. YNAPP youth acquire skills in leadership and teamwork while contributing to their communities. Youth are project leaders and work toward ways to make positive changes in their neighborhoods. Youth participants ages 8-18 (from neighborhood associations, social organizations, religious groups, educational institutions, etc.) are eligible to apply for YNAPP funding. The 2021-2022 application period opens Aug. 16 and closes Oct. 28, 2021. Application is made through; details are available online here and at

Sample projects include, but are not limited to, developing care packages; youth art/mural projects; reading projects; services for the homeless; repairing and refurbishing donated books to give to senior centers; and providing home maintenance services to disabled seniors.

Applicants, particularly first-time applicants, are urged to attend one of two Applicant Workshops, either in-person or virtually. The in-person Applicant Workshop is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 13, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. at the Strong Future Technology Training Center at 330 W. Washington Ave. in Las Vegas. Registration is limited. To register, click here. The Virtual Applicant Workshop is scheduled for Monday, Sept. 20, 2021, at 4 p.m. To register, click here.

Applications will be reviewed by the YNAPP board, whose members are appointed by the City Council. Applicants will be required to make a five-minute presentation to the YNAPP board in December 2021. Funding recommendations will be presented to the City Council for final approval in February 2022.

Technical assistance is provided to grant recipients by city staff, and monthly project reports are required until project completion. Grant recipients are required to sign a contract with the city of Las Vegas, outlining the group's project commitment. For more information, call Candace Boring at 702-229-2072 or email
