Alert: Another Important Employee Vaccination Update 2/21/21

Please be aware that due to continued weather-related shipping delays across the country, those employees scheduled to receive a Moderna COVID-19 vaccine this week at the city’s point of distribution in the Emergency Operations Center are being rescheduled. The Southern Nevada Health District notified the city that the planned delivery of the vaccine is not available at this time. The 643 employees impacted were sent an email notifying them of this change.

If you had an appointment for Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday but did not receive a cancellation notice and a link to reschedule your second dose, please contact oem@lasvegasnevada.gov.

We deeply regret this inconvenience and we hope this will be the last delay.

If you are concerned about exceeding the recommended 28-day timing for dose #2, please refer to this link, specifically the section labeled "Administration."

This section describes that while 28 days is the optimal spacing between Moderna doses, it is quite effective up to six weeks (42) days if necessary.
