Jack Eslinger Named City Of Las Vegas Municipal Court Administrator
Eslinger Will Oversee Municipal Court Functions
The Las Vegas City Council ratified the appointment of Jack Eslinger to the position of Municipal Court Administrator at today’s City Council meeting.
Eslinger has served as a deputy city attorney since December 2010, and began his career at the city in the Human Resources Department in training and labor relations in 2000. His primary focus in the city attorney’s office was litigation, labor and employment.
As the new court administrator, he will oversee the day-to-day operations of Municipal Court, which is responsible for the adjudication of misdemeanor cases within the city of Las Vegas. The Court handles many duties, including specialty courts, arraignments, classes, processing of bail, payments and warrants.
Before working in the Office of the City Attorney, Eslinger served as the city’s organizational development and training manager from 2003 to 2010. He has worked on the development of many city programs, including the diversity initiative, supervisory college, customer service certification and executive training.
Prior to joining the city, Eslinger worked for Mirage Resorts for 10 years, the last six of which were as human resources manager. Eslinger also taught employment law for the UNLV College of Business, and classes at the Nevada State College, In addition, he taught classes for the University of Phoenix on topics including law, organizational communication and human resources.
Eslinger graduated from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV in 2003 and passed the Nevada State Bar exam in July of that year. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Mississippi (1989) and graduated in 1987 from Eastern Illinois University with a double major bachelor’s degree in management and marketing.
Eslinger is active in the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and served as the Exalted Ruler of Las Vegas Lodge #1468 during the 2015-2016 lodge year. He has been married to his wife Dee for 29 years, and the couple has two sons.
