House Damaged By Fire In Charleston Rainbow Subdivision – Dec.18
Six People Displaced Being Assisted By American Red Cross
A family of six are displaced tonight after their northwest Las Vegas home caught fire just after Noon Wednesday, Dec.18. Fire dispatchers received several 9-1-1 calls at 1:12 p.m. that a house at 7225 William Anders Ave. was on fire.
When firefighters arrived on scene, heavy flames and smoke were showing from the rear of a two story wood frame/stucco house. The occupants of the house arrived on scene just as firefighters were arriving and advised them that everyone was out of the house.
It took firefighters approximately 15 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The fire started in a rear first floor bedroom, which was gutted. The fire caused heavy heat, smoke and fire damage throughout the house. The fire caused an estimated $125,000 damage.
Fire investigators ruled the fire accidental. They believe a candle left burning in the downstairs rear bedroom was the cause of the fire. No one was home when the fire started. The occupants returned to the house after they remembered they left the candle burning, and arrived at the same time as firefighters.
Two adults and four children are receiving assistance from the American Red Cross after being displaced.
There were no reported injuries during the incident.
