 Summerlin House Fire Under Investigation - Oct. 22

American Red Cross Assisting One Displaced Occupant

 

Fire caused heavy damage to the first floor of a Summerlin home late Monday evening. No one was home at the time of the fire. There were no reported injuries.

 

Neighbors in the 8000 block of Sky Ridge Road (Vegas/Buffalo) called 9-1-1 at 9:13 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22 to report smoke coming from a two story house. When firefighters arrived on scene, fire was on the rear of a large wood frame / stucco house. Flames were coming out a window from the inside of the house on to the patio.

 

Firefighters brought the blaze under control within 20 minutes. The fire gutted much of the first floor of the house, heat and smoke damaged the second floor. Damage was estimated at $100,000.

 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

 

The American Red Cross is assisting the only occupant of the house.
